My goal is to serve the community by providing Adaptive Grief Counselling, a specialist grief therapy service.

Support is provided with knowledge, encouragement, humour, and gentleness. I believe we can reclaim our sense of happiness and peace in many ways. Being able to help people regain confidence and wellbeing is my greatest reward as a therapist.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in paediatric and adult palliative care, hospital emergency and trauma services, staff counselling, and parenting services.

I have a special interest in providing assistance to people experiencing sudden and traumatic losses and to current and bereaved family caregivers. One of many highlights of my career has been the privilege of establishing the Carer’s Counselling Service for Carers SA in 2003-2006.

When supporting people to address their concerns, I am trained in and use several therapeutic models including

  • Self-compassion and attachment approaches
  • Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT)
  • Complicated and prolonged grief training and research
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Humanistic and strengths-based positive psychology approaches

As specialist grief counsellor, I have a depth and breadth of knowledge that enables me to be with you through the pain and struggle. I coach people to build coping skills, address unresolved issues, and find a new kind of strength. My yoga and mindfulness qualifications likewise supports people to adapt to difficult and heartbreaking changes.

If you would like to learn more, contact me to discuss your needs. I will do my very best to understand your needs and help you to build confidence and reclaim a sense of wellbeing and hopefulness about your life.

At times I may suggest alternative support options for you. If needed, we will talk this over at the time of your enquiry.

At the core of my work is the principle of caring and the values of kindness, patience and genuineness.

I approach counselling with compassion and realism. I believe positive change is more likely to occur when we feel deeply listened to and seen as a whole person rather than a problem

I support people to develop skills that are evidence-based, practical, and effective. Through purposeful discussions, I help people rediscover their confidence and happiness.
